GEMS Education seeking a Teaching Assistant to join us at GEMS Cambridge International School. This is part of our effort to support Emiratisation in the UAE. Your role will be to support the Teacher/Lead Practitioner in the promotion of learning and personal growth for all students. While your primary role is in the classroom, you will also be supporting the teacher and the school in all aspects of teaching and learning.
There are many responsibilities that you will be responsible for, including the planning of the lesson plans, supervising the students and providing feedback about student achievement and progress. You will be asked to record concerns and provide feedback on students for the teacher and school leaders. Under the direction of the Teacher, you will be able to communicate with students and parents and also keep a file.
Student support
As directed, supervise students in small groups or one-to-one differentiated activities in class.
Effectively and sensitively communicate with students to support their learning, promote self-confidence, independence, and be mindful of their well-being. Assist with their social/emotional development.
Support for Teachers
Contribute effectively and help in the creation of learning materials that are appropriate for students planned activities.
Collaborate with teachers to monitor students' progress. Use the framework provided by the teacher to plan your role in lessons, including how to provide feedback to students about their learning, behavior, and well-being.
You can monitor their participation and track their progress.
To meet school expectations, you need to be able to recognize strategies that encourage positive behavior.
Encouragement of the learning environment
Effective communication with parents, students and colleagues. Contribute purposefully to their group.
Organizational and time management skills are important.
Competent literacy, numeracy, and IT skills at required levels
Fluent in English and Arabic are two additional advantages
Qualifications
Bachelors in any stream or High School -certificate must be attested and presented during the interview
Experience
Minimum 2 years in a similar role in an educational environment-experience letter for the same must be provided during the interview. If the experience is outside UAE, it has to be attested as well.
