Based on receiving and invoice reports, receive, unload and process freight. Mark merchandise appropriately for placement in the facility and stage it by the department. The merchandise is then delivered to the appropriate department. Track and verify received inventory. Complete inventory logs and reports. To ensure accuracy in counting, reconcile shipping invoices with receiving reports. Receive, store, ship and deliver mail from all departments. You must secure the receiving area and all contents to ensure the safekeeping of your packages. All national, state, or local hazardous material shipping regulations and guidelines must be followed. All outgoing mail and all packages must be sent. Before delivering the package to the guest, verify its quantity and condition. Check with guests about the packages received. Keep accurate records of all shipping and receiving transactions. Communicate with the proper management about any package damage or loss.
Notify your manager about any accidents, injuries, or unsafe working conditions. Complete safety training and certifications. Respect all company policies and procedures. Ensure uniforms and professional appearances. Protect company assets. Service requests of guests should be addressed professionally, positively, and promptly. Use clear, professional language to communicate with others; use appropriate etiquette when answering phones. Maintain positive working relationships. Visually verify and read the information in many formats (e.g. small print). Visually inspect equipment and tools to find defects. Without assistance, move, lift, transport, push, pull, or place objects less than 50 pounds. Fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination are required to grasp, turn and manipulate objects of different sizes and weights. You can move through tight, narrow, or elevated spaces. You can also move over uneven, slippery, or sloping surfaces. Reach above and below your knees. Bending, twisting and pulling are all possible.
