Description

A call center representative acts as a bridge between families, hospitals and patients. They will help patients understand policies and make health care decisions.

Responsibilities
  • Operate the PBX during a shift.
  • Be polite and friendly when you call.
  • As appropriate and necessary, take and send messages to the right person at the right time.
  • Hand over the previous shift.
  • Log book should be read on a daily basis.
  • If necessary, complete an incident report.
  • When necessary, speak with receptionists, nurses, and doctors.
  • If possible, use the name of the caller.
  • Answer common questions or complaints
  • Keep up-to-date with all the latest procedures
  • Respect all policies and procedures of the hospital or department.
  • Report any suspicious telephone activity immediately to the higher management.
  • Communicate and understand what actions should be taken in an emergency situation, such as a bomb threat or fire.
  • Other related duties, as assigned
Qualifications
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize them with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work well in a group.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Keep all communications confidential at all times
  • At all times, show kindness, compassion, and empathy to patients and co-workers, visitors and callers, as well as subordinate staff.
