Description
A call center representative acts as a bridge between families, hospitals and patients. They will help patients understand policies and make health care decisions.
Responsibilities
- Operate the PBX during a shift.
- Be polite and friendly when you call.
- As appropriate and necessary, take and send messages to the right person at the right time.
- Hand over the previous shift.
- Log book should be read on a daily basis.
- If necessary, complete an incident report.
- When necessary, speak with receptionists, nurses, and doctors.
- If possible, use the name of the caller.
- Answer common questions or complaints
- Keep up-to-date with all the latest procedures
- Respect all policies and procedures of the hospital or department.
- Report any suspicious telephone activity immediately to the higher management.
- Communicate and understand what actions should be taken in an emergency situation, such as a bomb threat or fire.
- Other related duties, as assigned
Qualifications
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize them with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work well in a group.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Keep all communications confidential at all times
- At all times, show kindness, compassion, and empathy to patients and co-workers, visitors and callers, as well as subordinate staff.
