Description

The Assistant Security Manager oversees security personnel and works closely with Department Heads in order to provide a safe guest and member experience.

Responsibilities

As Assistant Security Manager, your responsibilities include directing and co-ordinating security staff activities, working with Department Heads in order to ensure that all staff are familiar with security procedures, and organizing patrolling of the property to ensure safe guest and member experiences. Assistant Security Managers are responsible for ensuring that the hotel is compliant with local safety regulations, and familiar with emergency procedures. You will be responsible for the following tasks at the highest level:

  • Keep good working relationships and communication in all areas of your hotel
  • As needed, communicate with the government and law enforcement agencies
  • Additional personnel needed for Conferences and Banquetings should be coordinated
  • Patrolling all boundaries, bedrooms, offices, and storage areas.
  • Assist the hotel with compliance with Local Fire Safety Legislation
  • Assist the hotel in complying with the Local Safety Laws
  • The codes of practice for P.A.C.E.
  • Make sure tours are conducted for fire prevention, escape routes, and security.
  • You can inquire into any hotel thefts and report them to the police using your discretion.
  • Assist other departments with security issues by providing advice and assistance, as well as directing and coordinating of security personnel.
  • Make incident reports and make sure that all allegations are investigated.
  • To ensure that hotel staff is aware of their security responsibilities, you should contact the heads of each department.
  • Regular staff awareness training should be planned, delivered, and supported
  • Fully familiarize yourself with company terrorist procedures, and communicate this to your staff
  • You should be familiar with emergency procedures and hotel fire fighting
  • Responsible for managing key control in all departments
Qualifications

Assistant Security Manager for Hilton brands, you will be working alongside other Team Members and on behalf of our guests. You must have the following attitudes, behaviors, and values to succeed in this role:

  • A systematic and organized approach to problem-solving
  • Experience in the security industry as a supervisor
  • SIA-trained and licensed
  • A thorough knowledge of floor plans and the layout of buildings, function rooms, and the surrounding areas.
  • Effectively deal with customers both internally and externe. Some of these customers will need patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger and gather accurate information.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English, to read and speak effectively, to understand and document important information.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and/or sit for the duration of a shift.
  • You can use your hearing and visual abilities to detect and recognize signs of emergency situations.
  • Do tasks that require you to bend, stoop, kneel, or walk a significant distance between buildings.
  • Ability to follow written or verbal instructions.
  • Ability to lift, grasp, carry, or move goods up to 50 lbs. adequate manual dexterity in the hands.
  • Ability to quickly climb ladders and stairs.
  • Ability to work with extreme temperatures.
  • A lot of knowledge about computer systems is required to register, reserve and back up.
  • To understand and interpret numbers in hotel operations, you need to have a higher than average mathematical understanding.
  • Ability to understand, read and speak English to communicate with guests or team members.
  • Excellent organizational and supervisory skills that are essential for the success of the task.
  • To develop and motivate subordinates in order to improve the performance of the corporation and hotel.
  • Ability to analyze complex statistical data and make appropriate judgments.
  • Effectively deal with customers both internally and externe. Some customers will need patience, diplomacy, and a high level of skill to manage anger, gather accurate information, and resolve disputes.
